Who We Are
	The Evangelical Congregational Church of India (ECCI), formerly known as the North East India General Mission (NEIGM) was founded by Rev. Watkin Roberts who was instrumental in bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to the hill tribes of Manipur South in 1910. Today we are one of the largest evangelical denominations in the region of north east India. We are committed to the propagation and perpetuation of the Evangelical Faith in partnership with the EC Church of America in the regions of north east India and even to the neighboring countries of Myanmar, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.
We are a confederation of six different conferences which are formed on the basis of our tribal distinctives. The present conferences include Evangelical Assembly Church (EAC) representing the Hmar tribe, Evangelical Churches Association (ECA) representing the Thadou-kuki tribe, Evangelical Organization Church (EOC) representing the Vaiphei tribe, Evangelical Synod Church (ESC), representing the Gangte tribe, Evangelical United Church (EUC) representing the Anal tribe and Bible Believing Evangelical Church (BBEC) representing the Lushai tribe. Our Head Quarters is located in the beautiful town of Churachandpur, Manipur state and our members spread across the states of Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Assam, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh. We also have like-minded partner churches in the gospel in the countries of Nepal and Myanmar. And we praise God for the way the Evangelical Congregational Church of India has been instrumental in bringing the light of the gospel to these regions. The Evangelical Congregational Church of India welcomes like-minded Churches into its federal body and to be partners together in implementing the Great Commission of Jesus Christ and reaching out to the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
