Rev. L.B. Angam has served in the Indian Army for six and half years and resigned in 1981 to respond to God’s call. He then joined Operation Mobilization for about two years and after that worked as Missionary under ECA for twelve years. He has also been deputed to work as Pastor for Kuki Worship Service in Shillong for another two years.
He was elected to the post of Mission Director, ECCI during the second General Conference in 2008 where he served till the end of his term in 2012. He was then elected to be the General Director of ECCI by the third General Conference of the Evangelical Congregational Church of India held during April 20-22, 2012. Rev. L.B. Angam will take charge of the Office of the General Director, ECCI on June 8, 2012 in the presence of the members of the Board of Trustees. Let us be in prayer for him and his family as they go through this period of transition.

The Evangelical Congregational Church of India is a federation of six different Conferences belonging to different tribal groups in North East India. Formerly it was known as North East India General Mission, a church which was first established in 1910 when the Gospel seed was shown for the first time in the region of Southern Manipur at Senvawn village. ECCI will continue to uphold its tradition of sharing the Gospel throughout India and beyond until the Lord comes.
