In an age when churches in the north east India are grouped together on ethnic and linguistic lines, the Evangelical Congregational Church of India has been able to maintain its ethnic diversity within its denomination till today. The United Evangelical Church represents the Anal tribe who are found mainly in Chandel District of Manipur.
A place where the influence of Baptist has been very strong and its churches well organized, the UEC has been able to maintained its membership in the Evangelical Congregational Church of India all these years.
