Representing the Gangte speaking community of the denomination, the Evangelical Synod Church was formed from the revival that broke out among the Gangte community way back in the mid nineteen twenties. The name Evangelical Synod Church was adopted in 1953 and has been an integral part of the Evangelical Congregational Church of India till today.
The Evangelical Synod Church under the dynamic leadership of Rev. Lamkhosat who serves as the Executive Director, plays a very important role in the ministry of Evangelical Congregational Church of India.
Its mission department is headed by Rev. Thangkhosiem who oversees all the missional activities of the Conference. The ESC involves in the missionary works in the fields of Manipur, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh. Miss Chinboi serves as the women promoter and is the Executive head of the Synod Women Society.
