Evangelical Assembly Church
Representing mainly the Hmar speaking community of the denomination, the Evangelical Assembly Church has been an active constituent member of ECCI for the past many years. It is actively involved in pastoral ministry among its own people and also in the spread of the gospel. The Evangelical Assembly Church is an association of more than fifty local churches spreading across the hills of Manipur south, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and in the valley of Manipur. Most of its members are living in the remote hill villages where the region is steep in poverty.
It has its own Executive Director, Rev. Challienkung under whose dynamic leadership this conference continues to make a deep impact in the work of mission and Evangelism. Its Missions and Evangelism board is presently headed by Rev. Lalkhamlien who oversees the work of pastoral and mission works of the Church.
It also has a Relief and Development Board headed by Mr. Simon Hrangchal that seeks to supplement the spiritual ministry of the pastors by carrying out developmental works in order to bring material relief to the poverty-stricken members of the church. It seeks to work with International donors in order to channel material assistance to alleviate the living conditions of the poverty-stricken people.
The Home Enterprise Project is one such program that is being carried out in collaboration with friends from Holland, Michigan. Nicholas Medendorp, a retired Engineer from Holland, Michigan voluntary facilitates this Project. So far three phases of the Home Enterprise projects have been implemented, bringing smiles and economic upliftment to more than thirty five families till date.
